From Marseille:
Several TER trains daily, Marseille to Briançon, mostly stopping at Mondauphin-Guillestre.
Has an altitude of 1700 metres and there are 45 kms of groomed trails. Try a traverse of the La Chalp Plateau for some easy skiing in the sunshine. At Le Parcours de Neiges you are at the Pont du Plan and you head towards the Razis waterfall. Or take a long climb to the Cabane des Espagnols, and onto Cébières in the heart of the forest, and then a long traverse gives you a good view. There is a detour available at the Château and this connecting sector gives a lovely undulating loop facing the cliffs overlooking the village. The descent to La Chalp is exhilarating and returns you to La Chalp plateau.
There is a restaurant with large terrace called
La Petite Fringale for a nice lunch stop.
Réallon is situated at an altitude of 1427 metres in a lovely mountain village where time has stood still. There are 37 kilometres of tracks and you can see the route options and difficulties in the table on the right for the
One trail winds through the forest with Réallon on one side and Aiguilles de Chabrières on the other.
The Trafanelle race is held each year in maquerade costumes in Les Gourniers(4/2/24) followed by a cross country masked ball.
La Draye is situated on the heights of Crots in the heart of the Hautes Alpes. It has magnificent mountain scenery, at an altitude of 1500 - 1900 metres and no ski lifts to blight the scenery. The cross country ski routes are shown on the map above to the right. (The yellow routes are for snowshoeing only).
Route No. 1 - Le Belvésère, is a blue of 5.4 km in length.
Route No. 2 - Pre Crozet - is a red route of 7 km.
Route No. 7 - Is a beginners course of 800 metres.
The tracks are free to use but there is an online prize pool to raise money for the maintenance of the new
Nordic nature resort.
