Pertisau lies on the South Western bank of Lake Achensee and has 211km of interesting cross country skiing trails. The highest point is at 1,263 metres and the area is is known for it's three valleys, each providing a different cross country ski experience. There are 40 km of cross country trails with snow-making capabilities in Achenkirch, Maurach and Pertisau.

Pertisau is close to Innsbruck airport (45km, 45min away), Salzburg airport (150km, 1h 30min away) and Munich airport (175km, 2h away).
Flights to Innsbruck are through British Airways, Easyjet and TUI flights, and also with Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines and KLM.
Pertisau is a 45 minute drive by road from Innsbruck and a taxi will cost around £100 - £130, but cheaper if you rent a car.

There is a very good network of buses which link Pertisau with Buchau , Achenkirch , Steinberg, Maurach and Wiesing, some meaning a change of bus at Maurach. You can find a link to the bus information website on the mainAchensee page.

The entrance is at the cross country center in Pertisau. The trail leads through the forest to the Falzthurn Alms and then across expansive fields to the Gramaialm (serves food and drinks) at the end of the Falzthurn Valley.

A perfect trail for beginners with leads across the fields in the center of Pertisau.
The panorama trail connects the trails from Maurach and Pertisau and is located above the Landesstrasse near Pertisau. The Løipe is demanding due to several short climbs and descents.
The route into the Gerntal is characterized by the alternation between flat sections and short climbs. Initially the trail leads through the forest, and onto the Pietzchalm, and from there it ascends slightly along the stream bed to Gern Alm. Back at the entrance, the trail has a moderate slope. For experienced beginners and advanced skiers.
This black trail initially runs over the area of the Achensee Golf and Country Club and continues to climb steadily through the forest to the end of the idyllic Tristenau valley. For practiced and advanced skiers.
The Achensee 3 Valleys cross country ski race, part of the World loppet series, takes place at the end of February each year. The course is 14K or 28K free technique and 10K or 33K for classic. It leaves from Pertisau into the three Karwendel valleys – Falzthurntal, Gerntal and Dristenau. The Achensee 3-Valleys-Race is part of the Austrian loppet series.
