At 1400m, La Tania is the best kept secret of the 3 Valleys. It is a unique and friendly resort, sheltered by a spruce forest, nestling between Courchevel and Meribel. The wooden apartments and chalets of the resort are situated in a beautiful Christmas tree forest.
The nearest airports are Geneva, Lyon, Chambérey
or Grenoble.
In Courchevel you can buy a trail pass from the lodges at the beginning of the trails, and as they are patrolled it's likely that you will be spot checked at certain points.
From La Tania you can also access the trails in neighbouring Courchevel, where there are 67 km of cross country ski tracks. A particular highlight is the 2.5 km long, medium-difficult high elevation trail ''Col de la Loze'', which spreads out at 2,300 m. The longest trail, marked difficult, stretches 17 km from Courchevel to Méribel Altiport at an altitude of around 1,800 m and diversity for experienced skiers. Méribel offers an additional 33 km of trails. All the trails can be used free of charge in LT.
15k route starting in La Tania to Courchevel. You can cut it short at the Bouc Blanc restaurant and return to La Tania.
In reverse, you can take the gondola up from La Tania and pick up the cross-country route there and also access to the routes in the wider Three Valleys.
From here the options includ the Col de la Loze loop, an easy 2.5km blue piste, and the Bouc Blanc itinerary on a slightly longer blue 5km piste.
The Courchevel/Méribel Altiport run is a 17km red track.
The Les Brigues/Chantery track runs through the forest.
The Boucle Bleue du Belvedere starts next to the Granges draglift, and is an easy route passing farmhouses and nice scenery along the way.
From Le Praz there are three loops. The green is 2km and starts opposite the ski jump. The red is 7km and the black is 8.5km, both starting from the tourist office.
Méribel has slightly more gentle tracks, take the green trail which is 3km long and great for those just starting. It starts at the Plan Ravet car park or the Piou-Piou nursery school. Alternatively if you feel slightly more confident take the blue marked trail, which is 5km and starts from the same place.
The blue track is 5km long with an altitude climb of 110m, which takes you through the forest and starts at Restaurant Le Blanchot. Alternatively if you prefer a red track, this also starts at the Restaurant, and is 10km long with an altitude climb of 230m. Both of these tracks great views and mountain scenery.
Starting in Méribel you can also take the longer cross country tracks to Courchevel or La Tania. Starting at Restaurant Le Blanchot and take the red marked track and either continue straight to make your way to Courchevel (17km with a altitude climb of 150m), or take the left track to head to La Tania (16km with a 230m climb).
