There is a total of 80 kms of tracks of different levels for cross country skiers. They vary in length from 2 km to 15 km for the longest, high alpine track at Alpe di Siusi. The tracks at Alpe di Siusi have double lanes and are groomed for skate and classic styles.
A 7.5 km long track connects Alpe di Siusi and Val Gardena.
From Selva Gardena, Vallunga provides a magnificent backcloth for nordic skiing. A total of 12 km of trails lead from the Carabinieri Sports centre to the end of the valley. There is also a ski school and ski hire at the start of the trail.
Santa Cristina - Monte Pana. This is an ideal starting point for various excursions with some spectacular panoramas. At an altitude of 1,636 metres, you'll find nine circular tracks with lengths from 1 to 8 km leading through forests and over meadows.
Ortisei - St Urlich - There is a 1 km practise trail on the Minert field at the eastern end of the promenade. On the Pinëi Saffle (5 km from Ortisei on the road to Casteriotto) there is a good 4.5 km trail.
Alpe di Siusi - for the more ambitious cross country skier there are over 60 km of prepared trails and usually good snow with views every way you look.

Track Opening information
The little cross-country ski house "PanaStua" at the Centro Fondo Monte Pana has been renovated and offers a range of services, including ski rental, changing room, lockers, a kitchenette, WC and a sitting area with wood stove.
An easy loop that is directly behind the Cross Country Centre in Ritsch. It starts from the Ritsch Hotel and Restaurant to the Große Moos and has good views over the Sasso Lungo/Langkofel and Sasso Piatto/Plattkofel.
Beginners can get a feel for things on this practice trail and hone their techniques, or use it to warm up for alonger tour.
The trail begins in Compaccio and passes the San Francesco/St. Franziskus Church and to the left of the road over vast Alpine meadows and a small wood to the Cross-Country Centre in Ritsch.
For beginners, this trail alternates easy sections with stretches that are somewhat more demanding. Skiers with a degree of technical expertise use the trails as a link route to the more difficult trails which begin at the Cross-Country Centre in Ritsch. This trail was designed as a warm-up route.
Also recommended in the opposite direction.
Located in Selva Val Gardena, following the signs to the Vallunga and the parkng at La Cajota.
Located in the Alpe di Siusi/Seiser Alm. As the access road is closed to traffic from 9.00am to 5.00pm, take the Alpe di Siusi cable car or the bus.
Set out from Ritsch and this varied circulat route leads north over the Große Moos and through the vast meadows towards the cable car for Ortisei/St. Ulrich, with the nearby Dolomite peaks of the Sasso Lungo/Langkofel and the Saso Piatto/Plattkofel in sight.
After a short uphill stretch, the route heads downwards through a stretch of woodland and over alpine meadows with traditional dairy farms. In Hartl, you come to a curve in the trail and ski on, slightly uphill, along the slope through meadows. There is a steep uphill stretch just before the trail meets the Möser trail, followed by easy, undulating terrain back to the set-off point in Ritsch.

The Moonlight Classic race is held each year on the alpine pastures and is a night time race. Distances are 15 km and 30 km in classic only.
